Motorola Edge 70 Fusion First Impressions: Slim Design Meets a Massive 7000mAh Battery

Motorola has officially launched the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion in India, targeting the competitive upper mid-range smartphone market. Starting at Rs 26,999, the device aims to deliver a premium experience with features such as a curved AMOLED display, Pantone-inspired colors, a slim design, and an impressive 7000mAh battery.

After spending some time with the phone, here are our first impressions of the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion.

Premium Edge Design with a Familiar Look

Motorola continues its signature Edge-series design language with the Edge 70 Fusion. The phone features a curved display, sleek metal frame, and a stylish soft fabric back panel.

While the design feels familiar compared to previous Edge devices, it still looks premium and elegant. The fabric finish also provides a better grip and reduces fingerprint smudges compared to glossy glass backs.

The device feels lightweight and slim, making it comfortable for extended usage. Even with a large battery inside, the phone remains pocket-friendly.

The Blue Surf color variant we tested offers a soft turquoise shade that looks subtle and modern. Other available color options include Country Air and Silhouette.

Large Curved Display with 144Hz Refresh Rate

The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion features a 6.78-inch 1.5K quad-curved AMOLED display.

Display highlights include:

  • 144Hz refresh rate

  • 1.5K resolution

  • Peak brightness of 5200 nits

  • Slim bezels with immersive design

The screen looks sharp, vibrant, and extremely smooth during everyday usage. Scrolling through apps feels fluid thanks to the high refresh rate.

The curved edges enhance the immersive experience when watching videos or browsing content. However, curved displays can divide opinions since many users now prefer flat panels.

During initial testing, the display remained bright and visible even in outdoor lighting conditions, making it suitable for media consumption and gaming.

New Camera Sensor for Better Photography

Motorola is introducing what it claims to be the world’s first smartphone with the Sony LYT-710 sensor.

The camera setup includes:

  • 50MP Sony LYT-710 main camera

  • 13MP ultra-wide camera with macro support

  • 32MP front camera

The primary sensor is designed to deliver better low-light performance, improved dynamic range, and sharper images.

Motorola’s camera app remains simple and user-friendly, offering modes such as:

  • Slow Motion

  • Dual Capture

  • Photo Booth

  • Pro Mode

This setup should satisfy both casual users and photography enthusiasts who enjoy experimenting with smartphone cameras.

Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 Processor

The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, replacing the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 found in the previous model.

This upgrade should bring improvements in:

  • Performance

  • Efficiency

  • Gaming capability

During early usage, the phone felt smooth and responsive with no noticeable lag while navigating apps.

Motorola also continues its tradition of offering a clean Android experience.

The device runs Hello UI based on Android 16, with minimal bloatware and a near-stock Android feel.

This long software support adds significant value for users planning to keep the phone for several years.

Massive 7000mAh Battery in a Slim Body

One of the most impressive features of the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is its 7000mAh silicon-carbon battery.

This is a major upgrade from the 5500mAh battery used in the previous model.

Motorola claims the phone can deliver up to 52 hours of battery life under typical usage.

The phone also supports 68W fast charging, allowing users to quickly recharge the large battery.

Thanks to silicon-carbon battery technology, Motorola has managed to include a huge battery without making the phone bulky.

The result is a device that balances battery endurance and slim design, which is rare in this price segment.
